JAKARTA - Russian missile attacks killed four people and damaged educational facilities in the city of Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine.

Dnipropxisk governor Serhiy Lysak said five other people were injured, three of whom were in critical condition.

Reported by Reuters on Friday, January 17, two five-story buildings were damaged and one caught fire.

Several explosions resonated across the city, witnesses said on social media, after Ukraine's air force warned of the threat of a ballistic missile attack from Russia's occupied Crimea.

Russia, which began a massive invasion of Ukraine nearly three years ago, did not immediately comment on reports from Kryvyi Rih, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's hometown.
