Strengthen Maluku Waters To Papua, Indonesian Air Force Sends KRI Balongan 908 Added Koarmada III Fleet

JAKARTA - Fleet Command (Koarmada) III added one fleet, namely KRI Balongan 908 as an effort to strengthen the territorial defense of the waters in eastern Indonesia.

The Commander of Fleet Command (Pangkoarmada) III Rear Admiral TNI Hersan explained, KRI Balongan 908 is a domestic product given to Koarmada III to strengthen marine defense in the Maluku to Papua regions.

"This is assistance provided to strengthen defense in Maluku waters to Papua," said Pangkoarmada III in Sorong, West Papua, Friday, January 17, as reported by Antara.

He said, Koarmada III now has 21 KRIs which are considered very helpful to support marine defense activities in eastern Indonesia.

"Our steps are to meet the needs of supporters in Koarmada III," he said.

He is committed that Koarmada III, which will enter the age of 7 years in May 2025, will continue to strengthen safeguarding marine waters from Maluku to Papuan waters that have been supported by the strength of marine elements and soldiers.

"We will secure this sovereign territory from all forms of threats that disrupt our sovereignty," he said.

In addition, Pangkoarmada also reminded every Indonesian Navy soldier to learn and follow the high fighting power of the Jalasena fighters who have captured and defended this region.

"We hope that our current soldiers will continue to have that spirit in fighting for the region, so that no area will be disturbed by other parties," hoped Pangkoarmada III.
