Glodok Plaza Burns, Students Of SDN Pinangsia 01 Forced To Study At Home

JAKARTA - The students of SD Negeri Pinangsia 01 Pagi were forced to study at home today due to the Glodok Plaza fire, West Jakarta. This was revealed by the Acting Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Office, Sarjoko.

"For the time being, students study at home until the situation is safe so that learning can be carried out in schools again," said Sarjoko in a short message, Thursday, January 16.

Sarjoko said the fire did not spread to SDN Pinangsia 01 when the incident took place. However, the school is located opposite Glodok Plaza which is also located on Jalan Pinangsia Raya.

Until now, Jalan Pinangsia Raya is still closed for the purposes of handling the impact of the Glodok Plaza fire.

"The access road to SDN Pinangsia 01 is closed and there is still smoke," said Sarjoko.

It is known that the fire at Glodok Plaza was thought to have started from the 7th floor and spread to the 8th floor, 9, and 6th floor. The fire began to appear at around 21.33 WIB, Wednesday, January 15.

The Gulkarmat Service deployed about 20 fire engines at the mall located on Jalan Pinangsia Raya, Mangga Besar Village, Tamansari District. Pedadaman is also carried out with a skylift bronto unit.

The joint team evacuated 8 workers trapped in the Glodok Plaza building and is already being handled by the medical team.

The blackout was carried out until around 10:00 WIB. At the location, Glodok Plaza is currently still being cooled and sweeping by officers.
