Semi-permanent Building In Kemayoran Gempol Hangus Burns

JAKARTA - A densely populated settlement with a semi-permanent building on Jalan Kemayoran Gempol, RT 08/06, Kebon Blank Village, Kemayoran District, Central Jakarta, caught fire on Wednesday morning, January 15.

Fires were reported to the Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. at around 08.58 WIB. A total of 28 fire engines were dispatched to the location of the fire.

"We have deployed 140 personnel to the location for extinguishing," said Head of Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Asril Rizal to VOI, Wednesday, January 15.

The fire, which had grown, was gradually extinguished at 10.05 WIB.

"Currently, the cooling process is already underway. The object of the burning house is a low type of building," he said.

Meanwhile, according to Ani, a local resident, she learned about the fire after returning from a gas station.

"Suddenly there was smoke from behind. I don't know what caused it, I was shocked. My belongings were also not carried away. There was a diploma of a school child," said Ani, who had lived for 27 years in the area.

Ani said that at the time of the incident there was no sound of explosion at the location of the fire.

"When there was no explosion, suddenly it turned on. I was also shocked, O Allah," he said.
