Prosecutor's Office Names Head Of Office To EO Suspect Of Corruption In Fictitious Activities Of The DKI Jakarta Culture Service

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office has named three suspects in the corruption case of the DKI Jakarta Culture Service. They are the Head of the DKI Culture Office (Kadis) Iwan Henry Wardhana, the Head of the Utilization Division of the DKI Disbud Mohamad Fairza Maulana (MFM), and the owner of the EO with the initials GAR.

The determination of the three people as suspects in fictitious activities using fake stamps was issued through a letter of determination of the suspect dated January 2, 2025.

"Today we have named three suspects, two from the state civil apparatus from the Culture Service and one person from the private sector or vendor," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Attorney General's Office, Patris Yusrian Jaya at the DKI Kajati Office, South Jakarta, Thursday, January 2.

In this case, Fairza and GAR agreed to use fictitious studios in making SPJs to disburse funds for art and cultural performances held by the DKI Disbud.

Then, the SPJ money that has entered into the fictitious studio and the studio used by his name is withdrawn and accommodated in GAR's account which is allegedly used for the benefit of Iwan and Fairza.

"We will then process the three suspects," said Patris.

Today, the DKI Attorney General's Office has brought GAR to the Cipinang Detention Center and detained for the next 20 days for the investigation process. Meanwhile, Iwan and Fairza will be recalled by the DKI Attorney General's Office as suspects next week.

The DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office searched the office of the DKI Jakarta Culture Service on Wednesday, December 18. The search was carried out starting at 10.40 WIB, starting from the room of the Head of the Culture Service Iwan Henry Wardhana on the 15th floor and the room of the Head of Culture Utilization on the 14th floor.

Not only the offices of the Culture Service were searched, but also the houses of the Head of Culture Utilization and the offices of third parties or private parties, namely the EO GR-Pro office.

The basis for the raid is the alleged irregularity of activity funds sourced from the Budget of the Jakarta Special Regional Provincial Culture Office for the 2023 fiscal year with an activity value of approximately Rp150 billion.

"The search and confiscation of the handling of cases of alleged corruption in the form of irregularities in activities at the Jakarta Special Regional Provincial Culture Office," said Head of the Legal Information Section of the Jakarta Prosecutor's Office, Syahroni Hasibuan.

The DKI Prosecutor's Office confiscated Rp1 billion from the search. It was also confiscated by hundreds of fake stamps from a series of searches by the Jakarta Special Region Culture Office and four other locations.

From a temporary investigation, hundreds of fake stamps were used to make the impression of organizing an activity. Thus, the budget for the activities of the Jakarta Culture Service for the 2023 period can be disbursed.

"It is as if the activity is carried out as evidenced by the stamp to disburse the budget even though the fact is that there is absolutely no activity," he said.

Following up on this, the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, Teguh Setyabudi, disabled Iwan from his position as head of the service on Thursday, December 19. His position was temporarily replaced by the Secretary of the DKI Culture Service, Imam Hadi Purnomo as the daily executor.
