MEDAN - Serdang Bedagai Resort Police (Polres), North Sumatra (North Sumatra) conducted mediation on community organizations (ormas) related to the dispute between Pemuda Pancasila and the United Indonesia People's Movement (GRIB).

"As a result of this mediation, the two mass organizations agreed to commit not to spread news hoaxes that could harm each other. This agreement is expected to create a more harmonious atmosphere in society," said Serdang Bedagai Police Chief AKBP Jhon Sitepu as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 10.

Jhon said this series of mediation activities aims to solve problems that occur between the two organizations.

The two mass organizations held an open dialogue to find solutions to the dispute between the two organizations on Tuesday, early morning.

After the agreement was made to make peace, Jhon said the situation in Perbaungan Subdistrict was conducive. His party was assisted by Brimob personnel from the North Sumatra Police and the Indonesian Army to carry out patrols to ensure the security of the community.

According to him, the public does not need to be afraid to leave as usual, because the police are still guarding the area so that it remains safe and conducive.

"We guarantee that security, especially in Perbaungan District and other Serdang Bedagai areas, will be conducive," said Jhon.

The police chief said his party had arrested more than five people who were carrying sharp weapons for further investigation, and one victim who had made the report.

"We urge the public to report to the police if they know of any form of crime so that they can immediately be dealt with," he said.
