JAKARTA - The defendant in the alleged tin corruption case, Harvey Moeis as the extension of PT Refined Bangka Tin (RBT), admitted that currently he often borrows money from other people every month because all of his accounts are blocked for examination of suspected tin corruption cases.

"I really don't have any more money. Every week or every month I have to borrow someone," Harvey said during the trial of the defendant's examination at the Jakarta Corruption Court, reported by ANTARA, Friday, December 6.

In addition to his account, he revealed that his wife's account, Sandra Dewi, was also blocked for the purpose of the case, including Sandra's account from a young age.

The account, he said, was Sandra's savings from 25-30 years ago, when his wife migrated to Jakarta from Bangka Belitung to pursue a dream to become an artist.

Harvey admitted that at first he did not know the whereabouts of the account and never accessed the account at all.

However, he said all the money in the account came from Sandra's hard work so far and there was no contribution from her.

"It was all the result of his hard work (Sandra Dewi) shooting early in the morning, afternoon, night, even in the middle of the forest. But in fact the account was also blocked," he said.

Harvey was examined as a defendant in the alleged corruption case in the management of tin commodity trading in the mining business permit (IUP) area of PT Timah in 2015-2022.

The cases of alleged tin corruption include dragging Harvey Moeis as the extension of PT Refined Bangka Tin (RBT), Suparta as the President Director of PT RBT, and Reza Andriansyah as the Director of Business Development of PT RBT as the defendant.

As a result of the actions of the defendants in the case of alleged tin corruption, state finances were recorded to have suffered a loss of Rp. 300 trillion. The loss included Rp. 2.28 trillion in the form of losses for the cooperation activities of mining equipment (processing) logging with private smelters, Rp. 26.65 trillion in the form of losses due to tin seed payments to mining partners of PT Timah, and Rp. 271.07 trillion in the form of environmental losses.

In this case, Harvey was charged with receiving Rp420 billion in cash with PT Quantum Skyline Exchange (QSE) Manager Helena Lim, while Suparta was charged with receiving a cash flow of Rp4.57 trillion from the case that cost the state finances Rp300 trillion.
