2024 Pilkada: Hasto Kristiyanto Claims PDIP's Victory In 14 Provinces And 247 Regencies/Cities

PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said that the party bearing the white-nosed bull symbol won regional head elections (pilkada) in 14 provinces and 247 districts/cities.

"We saw that the province won, won in 14 provinces or 38 percent and the district/city won by 247 or 48 percent," said Hasto during a press conference at the PDI-P DPP Office, Jakarta, Sunday (1/12).

Hasto detailed that the PDI-P managed to win the provincial-level regional elections in Aceh, Riau, Jambi, Bengkulu, Bangka Belitung, DKI Jakarta, Bali, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, Papua, Central Papua, Papua Mountains, South Papua, and West Papua.

Of the 14 provinces, said Hasto, there were nine PDI-P cadres. In addition, there were 162 cadres from 247 regencies/cities who were successfully won by the party led by Megawati Soekarnoputri.

He stated that party institutions were continuously so that the PDI-P was listed as a party capable of placing its party cadres as leaders throughout the region.

"In the midst of various pressures and attacks, it turns out that the voice of the people, God's voice continues to work as well as possible," said Hasto, as reported by Antara.

The Secretary General of the PDI-P stated that the victory was because his party had a clear position in the midst of an anomaly of democracy.

When injustice occurs massively, he said, the PDI-P puts itself in a position to make corrections.

"We invite all components of society, let's uphold democracy so that the Indonesian body has strong bones based on the ideology of Pancasila and the state constitution which should not be favored by anyone because as our nation we have aspirations, as our nation has a good civilization," he added.

On behalf of the PDI-P, Hasto thanked the public for the trust and support provided.

"We thank you for your determination. We are very touched and appreciate when several mass organizations spontaneously voluntarily participate in guarding, even sleeping in vote counting locations so that things don't happen that we don't want," he said.

It is known that the simultaneous 2024 Pilkada voting in 37 provinces and in 508 regencies/cities on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

The recapitulation of vote count results was carried out in the period 27 November 16 December 2024.
