Prabowo Approaches Jokowi At Halim Gives Happy Birthday

JAKARTA - Presidential Defense Minister Elect Prabowo Subianto approached President Joko Widodo at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base (Lanud), Jakarta, to wish President Jokowi a happy birthday.

At Halim, the two also had a chance to talk at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base VVIP Room, Friday afternoon, and Prabowose then escorted the President to fly to his residence in Surakarta, Central Java.

Prabowo, on his personal Instagram, also shared the moments of his meeting with President Jokowi at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base.

"May always be in the protection of Allah SWT, always be given health and strength in carrying out service to the State and the People of Indonesia. Happy Birthday Mr. President @jokowi," Prabowo said in a caption on his Instagram photo @prabowo as reported by ANTARA, Friday, June 21.

President Jokowi, born on June 21, and this year he celebrates his 63rd birthday.

Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana in Jakarta, Friday, said President Joko Widodo had never celebrated a special birthday, including this year which falls on Friday.

Ari said that President Jokowi, who was born on June 21, 1961, did not have the habit of celebrating his birthday.

"Mr. President has never celebrated his birthday specifically. And there is no special reason. It just doesn't become his custom," said Ari.

On the commemoration of his 63rd anniversary this year, President Jokowi even continues his activities as usual at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Friday.

"There is no special event. The President continues his activities as usual at the Merdeka Palace," added Ari.

Apart from that, after activities in Jakarta until the afternoon, the President of the Republic of Indonesia chose to leave for Surakarta during his birthday.
