Not Forward To The NTT Gubernatorial Election, Fary Francis Asked Prabowo To Focus On Escorting ASABRI

Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto asked Fary Djemi Francis to focus on becoming the President Commissioner of PT ASABRI to oversee ASABRI's work to completion.

"I have received directions and assignments from the Minister of Defense who is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees/General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party DPP, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, to continue to focus and oversee the work at PT Asabri to completion," said Fary Francis as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 27.

This was conveyed in response to him who had been proposed by a number of Gerindra Party DPCs in NTT to run as NTT governor candidates in the Simultaneous Pilkada in November 2024.

He said with this decision, he would not run as a candidate for governor of NTT in the upcoming November 2024 Pilkada.

"The decision was taken at the General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) which was held today," he continued.

Fary said who would be assigned by the Gerindra Party to become a candidate for governor of NTT in the upcoming November 2024 Pilkada, Fary admitted that the name of the candidate for governor was already in the hands of the General Chairperson of Gerindra.

The name of the NTT candidate for governor from Gerindra is already in the hands of the General Chair. It has been discussed intensively at the DPP level. Just waiting for the strategic momentum for the General Chair to convey it to the public, especially the people of NTT," he said.

Fary Francis is a politician who is familiar among the people of NTT. During his time as Chairman of Commission V DPR RI (2014 2019), he has mobilized infrastructure development in NTT.

In mid-May 2024, formally 22 DPC Gerindra Party in NTT through the Rakerda forum had proposed the name Fary Francis as a candidate for governor of NTT from the Gerindra Party.
