JAKARTA - A total of 60 Army soldiers who served in the ranks of Korem 181 / PVT Sorong, West Papua Province, underwent the second phase of vaccination. This vaccination is for the purpose of preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the task of serving the community.

The vaccination program which took place at the Indonesian Army Rumkit dr. Aryoko Sorong was followed by 40 soldiers from Kodim 1802 / Sorong and 20 soldiers from Yonzipur 20 / PPS.

Before receiving the vaccine, said Dandenkesyah Lt. Col. Ckm Mugiharto, the soldiers had to go through the screening and medical check-up stages first.

"After being declared eligible, the health team injects the vaccine. After completion, the health team will conduct an observation for 30 minutes, this observation is carried out to see if there are any side effects or complaints after being injected with the vaccine," he said.

West Papua Governor Dominggus Mandacan in his speech said that the second phase of vaccination is expected to be an example for the community to be able to participate in vaccination.

He also appealed to community leaders and local governments to help educate the public by disseminating good and correct information.

He hopes that all components of society will immediately register to get the COVID-19 vaccine to prevent the spread of the virus more widely.

"I hope that all people ask for their cooperation to help implement the second phase of the COVID-19 vaccination so that it can run smoothly so that June 2021 can be continued with the third stage targeting all people aged 18 years and over," he said.
