NasDem Regarding The DKI Gubernatorial Election: We Wait For Anies Baswedan's Attitude

JAKARTA - NasDem DPP chairman Willy Aditya said NasDem Party Chairman Surya Paloh had offered Anies Baswedan to run in the upcoming DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election. However, the former governor of DKI Jakarta who failed in the 2024 presidential election has not yet provided an answer.

"So far, the offer has come from Pak Surya to Mas Anies," Willy told reporters at the PKS DPP office, South Jakarta, Saturday, April 27.

Willy said his party wanted Anies to run in the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election because he considered it a political asset. "We'll wait for Mas Anies' attitude," he said.

Even so, NasDem ensures that he will prepare other figures to be nominated in Jakarta if Anies has no intention of advancing. Among them are the General Treasurer of the NasDem Party Ahmad Sahroni and Wibi Adrino who are the Chair of the DKI Jakarta NasDem Party DPW.

"Yes, Mas Anies' priority. Top priority. Second, there is Ahmad Sahroni, there is Wibi Adrino after that, we will see others later," he said.

In addition, NasDem is also ready to discuss with other parties such as the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and the National Awakening Party (PKB) which collaborated during the 2024 presidential election. "Later we will sit together," he said.

"So for that in a dialectistic manner, after all, the spirit to win is important. Here, the winner of DKI, PKS, NasDem, the deputy chairman, has increased significantly. That is a very strong political capital for how to continue the cooperation in DKI Jakarta, DKJ," continued Willy.

As previously reported, the General Chairperson of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, said that the possibility to carry Anies Baswedan in the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election in November will be open.

"Yes, the probability in that direction still exists," said Surya at the PKS DPP Office, South Jakarta, Saturday, April 27.

However, their party is still conducting a study. "The DKI Regional Headline sees later, don't just talk about it," he said.
