JAKARTA - The National Police Criminal Investigation Unit named 6 irregulars of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) as suspects in the case of assaulting members of the National Police during a clash on the Jakarta-Cikampek KM 50 toll road.

Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Andi Rian, said that the determination of the suspect was based on the results of investigations and investigations.

"Yes, they are 6 suspects (FPI laskar)," said Brigadier General Andi to reporters, Wednesday, March 3.

Andi said the suspect's determination was under suspicion of Article 170 of the Criminal Code. But the six FPI troops have died.

He said this was in accordance with the investigation process regarding the case of assault against members of the Police. Later, the matter of whether the case will be continued or will not reach the court is the authority of the Prosecutor's Office.

"Why is that possible? Yes, you can. If you become a suspect first, then the court will decide what to do in the future," he said.

Previously, the results of the Komnas HAM investigation stated that there were two series of incidents behind the death of 6 FPi laskar. One of them is about the shooting that took place around KM 50 of the Cikampek Toll Road. At that time, as many as four FPI soldiers who were alive were later found dead.
