JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially appointed Andi Samsan Nganro as Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (MA) for Judicial Affairs at the State Palace, Monday, February 15.

Andi's inauguration is contained in the Presidential Decree No. 22/P/2021 concerning the honorific dismissal of the Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and the appointment of the Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court for Judicial Affairs.

After the reading of the Presidential Decree, the event continued with the inauguration chaired by President Jokowi and began with taking oaths accompanied by clergy.

"By Allah, I swear that I will fulfill my obligations as Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in the field of Judicial affairs as well as possible and fairly. Upholding the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and carrying out all laws and regulations, to the fullest, and serving the community, homeland, and nation," said Andi when reading the oath of office.

The inauguration ceremony, which was carried out by implementing this strict health protocol, was then followed by congratulations by President Jokowi and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and ended with a group photo.

The election was held at the Supreme Court building, North Medan Merdeka Road, Central Jakarta. He was elected by 42 out of 45 voting supreme justices and was declared a quorum.
