Money Exchange Services Around Ciledug Kapok Selling Because Of Palak Ormas Rp600 Thousand

TANGERANG, a man from Medan, said Rizal (not his real name), admitted that he experienced blasphemy by a group of community organizations (ormas) while selling money exchange services in front of the Plaza Ciledug area, Tangerang City. Rizal revealed that he was asked to pay Rp600 thousand as security money, plus a daily fee of Rp30 thousand.

"Initially I was hit by Rp600 thousand by mass organizations. Then, every day I also have to deposit Rp30 thousand. So, the first money is different from the one that must be paid daily," Rizal said when met at the location on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

According to him, it was not only one group of mass organizations who tried to ask for money from him. However, he refused to give more money because he had already paid to the first mass organization.

"There are boundaries here for each region. Each area has its own mass organization. It should be, parking in front is not allowed, but because there are mass organizations, so it's possible," he said.

Rizal complained that his efforts as a money exchange service only provided a profit of around 3 percent, while levies from mass organizations made it difficult for him to make a profit.

"I only sell money, fortunately only 3 percent. I already got Rp600 thousand at the beginning, then I have to pay Rp30 thousand per day. What do I want to eat if I have to pay?" he complained.

As a result of the large costs that had to be incurred, Rizal admitted that he gave up and decided to no longer run a mobile money exchange business.

"I gave up, this is the last one. I just spent the remaining money, after that I won't sell anymore," he said.

When asked if he would report this incident to the Ciledug Police, Rizal chose not to take risks.

"It's also confusing, if you report it, you are afraid that it will add to the problem. It's better to just stay silent, the important thing is to be safe," he said.

He also plans to return to his old job as a public transportation driver in Tangerang City.

"Yes, at best he will become an angkot driver," he concluded.
