The Constitutional Court Rejects All Evidence Of The Bengkulu Pilgub Lawsuit Filed By Agusrin Cagub

BENGKULU - The Constitutional Court (MK) rejected all evidence submitted by the pair of candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor of Bengkulu Agusrin Najamudin-Imron Rosyadi as a petitioner.

Agusrin-Imron Zetriansyah's attorney said that his party would immediately send an objection letter to the Constitutional Court following the rejection of all evidence at the Court hearing.

"We are very disappointed because our rights were ignored. We submitted 104 proofs and all of them were not accepted. We are also surprised that the reason for not accepting them is even though the evidence is complete," said Zetriansyah, Wednesday, February 3.

According to him, the evidence submitted was entirely to strengthen the arguments they submitted in the lawsuit, namely to prove that there was structured, systematic and massive fraud in the holding of the election for the Governor and Deputy Governor of Bengkulu in the last December 9 Pilkada.

Apart from documents, his party also included several videos showing the occurrence of fraud in the Bengkulu Pilgub implementation, but the video evidence was also rejected by the Constitutional Court.

"How do we want to prove fraud if our evidence or our rights are completely ignored. It violates the procedural law," he said.

In their lawsuit, Agusrin-Imron asked the Constitutional Court to disqualify candidate pair number 02 Rohidin Mersyah-Rosjonsyah for allegedly committing fraud, namely using state facilities while campaigning.

They also asked for a re-election in five districts, namely Mukomuko Regency, North Bengkulu Regency, Central Bengkulu Regency, Seluma Regency and Kepahiang Regency due to fraud, namely around 60 thousand votes in that area were canceled.

Meanwhile, KPU Bengkulu Commissioner Eko Sugianto said that his party had denied all the arguments presented by the applicant through the answers presented in front of the trial.

In addition, as many as 36 pieces of evidence submitted by the Bengkulu Province KPU were also accepted by the Constitutional Court.

"So far, we are still confident and optimistic that the exception we conveyed can be considered by the judges of the Court in deciding the lawsuit submitted by the applicant. We are optimistic that the lawsuit will not be granted by the Court," said Eko.
