BPBD DKI Mitigasi SMAB Ke Hundreds Of Schools Di Jakarta After Kejadian Robaknya Tembok MTsN 19 Pondok Labu

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has made efforts to mitigate 243 schools or madrasas. This is done to prevent similar things from happening, such as at MTsN 19 Jakarta.

It is known that the Provincial Government has a school program or disaster-safe madrasa (SMAB). The program was also regulated in Governor Regulation No. 187 of 2016.

"As an effort to mitigate schools in flood-prone areas, the DKI BPBD has carried out guidance to 243 schools or madrasas," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta, Isnawa Adji in a statement, Friday, October 7.

On that occasion, Isnawa admitted that his party would monitor the buildings of schools located close to the river and river. This is an anticipatory measure to minimize similar incidents in Jakarta.

"Referring to the incident at MTSN 19, in the future the DKI BPBD will monitor school buildings bordering connecting channels or rivers," he concluded.

As is known, three students died because they were hit by a school guard wall that collapsed due to flooding at MTsN 19 Pondok Labu, Cilandak, South Jakarta, on Thursday at around 14.50 WIB.

The school wall collapsed allegedly due to overflowing Krukut River water pressure due to high rainfall intensity.
