Regarding The Security Of The Ferdy Sambo Cs Case Prosecutor, The AGO For Communication To The Police

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) is coordinating with the National Police to ensure the safety of the public prosecutor (JPU) in charge of resolving the murder case of Brigadier J with the suspect Ferdy Sambo Cs. The relevant certainty is to avoid the prosecutor in this case from being threatened or terrorized.

"Technically, Pak Jampidum will coordinate with the police," said the Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, confirmed on Monday, October 3.

Ketut agreed with the opinion of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD who suggested that the Public Prosecutor who handled the Ferdy Sambo case be the elected prosecutor. He also recommended that the prosecutor be quarantined to avoid terror.

According to Ketut, the best prosecutor's election in handling the case is indeed required.

"The prosecutor must have experience, capacity and integrity so that he has a professional attitude," he said.

Regarding the prosecutor's security, continued Ketut, it is also important to consider this case considering that the case has attracted public attention, so it is necessary to ensure that the public prosecutor who oversees the proof of the case can work comfortably without intervention and threats.

"In the context of securing the prosecutor, it is also a very important proposal considering that it is not only interesting from the public's attention, so that the prosecutor who handles it is also more comfortable as well as his family so that there is no pressure in the trial process," said Ketut.

For this reason, he said, the Jampidum will coordinate with the police for the security process at trial.

"If the safe house (house guard) is not yet needed," said Ketut.

The Attorney General's Office has appointed the Public Prosecutor to resolve the criminal case (P-16A) for the premeditated murder of Brigadier J as many as 30 people, who handle five case files. As for the obstruction of justice case, there are 43 Public Prosecutors who will handle seven case files.

Previously, based on an Antara report on Wednesday, September 28, the Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes (Jampidum) stated that the case file for the premeditated murder of Brigadier J (Article 340) and obstructed the investigation into the murder of Brigadier J (obstruction of justice) was completely formal and material or P-21.

Jampidum asked the Criminal Investigation Police investigators to delegate the responsibility of the suspect and evidence of the two cases to the public prosecutor for immediate trial.

The National Police has scheduled the delegation of the second phase of the suspect and evidence to the South Jakarta District Attorney (Kejari South Jakarta) on Wednesday, October 5.
