Complete Dossier, 19-year-old Woman Who Advertises Online Gambling In Aceh Will Soon Be Tried

ACEH - The Bireuen District Attorney (Kejari) in Aceh Province received the transfer of files and 19-year-old female suspects with the initials UK as an advertiser about online gambling via social media (medsos).

Head of the Bireuen District Attorney's Office, Munawal Hadi, said that the suspect is currently being held at the Bireuen Class IIB Institute for the next 20 days.

"The detention of the suspect by the public prosecutor after Aceh Police investigators handed over the case file along with the evidence. The detention of the suspect for the prosecution process before the case was transferred to court," he said in Banda Aceh, Friday, April 26, was confiscated by Antara.

Munawal said the UK suspect was suspected of violating Article 27 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 48 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law Number 11 of 2011 concerning information and electronic transactions.

"The UK suspect is suspected of promoting or advertising online gambling through his Instagram social media account. Furthermore, the public prosecutor prepared an indictment to submit the case file to the court," he said.

Previously, Aceh Police investigators submitted case files along with the UK suspect and evidence to the public prosecutor at the Bireuen Attorney General's Office. The evidence transferred to the smartphone, telephone card, and data storage area.

Head of the Cyber Sub-Directorate of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Aceh Regional Police, Kompol Ibrahim, said that the UK suspect was arrested at a fire in Bireuen Regency on December 19, 2023.

"UK was arrested on suspicion of promoting gambling on his Instagram account. UK claimed to get paid when promoting the gambling," said Ibrahim.
