JAKARTA - The East Jakarta City Government has made arrangements for 107 street vendors (PKL) who sell in front of Ciracas Market, Ciracas District.

East Jakarta Assistant for Economic Development and Environment Kusmanto said the arrangement was a response to complaints from the community around the market and road users who requested that the sidewalk function be returned to its original state.

"We have held a coordination meeting with the three pillars in the context of structuring the sidewalks and the road in front of the Ciracas Market which has been occupied by street vendors and illegal parking," Kusmanto said in Jakarta, quoting Antara, Friday, August 5.

Kusmanto added that the arrangement of street vendors who sell in front of the Ciracas Market will be carried out next week. He also said that he had started to provide socialization regarding the arrangement plan for the next four days.

"We will give it four days. After that, there will be no more street vendors and illegal parking, so the sidewalk function can function properly," said Kusmanto.

Furthermore, he said that the arrangement of sidewalks and illegal parking should be done. Moreover, many people complain that the presence of seasonal traders and illegal parking disturbs road users and causes traffic jams.

"During the arrangement, street vendors will be temporarily placed in the market yard to facilitate work on tidying up sidewalks, including restoring the function of canals and parks," said Kusmanto.
