Bhayangkara Day 2022, Academics: National Police HR Must Be Ready To Answer The Challenge Of Digitization

JAKARTA - The National Police is celebrating its birthday or Bhayangkara Day today, July 1.

Head of the Center for Police Studies, Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University (Undip) Semarang, Nur Rochaeti, assessed that this was the right moment to re-analyze the readiness of the National Police to face the challenges of digitalization and information technology development.

"The shift in human resources towards digitalization and information technology is a challenge that every Polri leader needs to respond to," said Rochaeti in Semarang, Central Java, Friday July 1.

According to him, the function and role of the National Police is very strategic in anticipating and responding to social phenomena regarding various forms of crime, both in terms of quality and quantity.

Rochaeti said that the community also hopes that the performance of the National Police in the future will be able to answer and overcome challenges, and together build a safe country.

According to him, the complexity of the current situation, which has the potential to create conflict, requires harmonious cooperation between the police and all elements of society.

He added that the task of the police is not only to enforce the law, but also to be ready to serve, protect and protect the society which is currently so complex.

"We need police who are able to carry out their duties as bhayangkara people, implement the character values of bhayangkara and anti-corruption culture in order to change mindsets and culture," he said, according to Antara.

The National Police must also be able to answer future challenges in the national security system as its main task is regulated in Law No. 2 of 2002.
