Roller Skate Troupe Drives In The Middle Of Jalan Gatot Subroto, Deputy Governor Of DKI: Arrogance Is Harming Many People

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria regretted the actions of a group of roller skaters who crossed the middle of Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jakarta.

Riza admitted that the DKI Provincial Government would follow up on the action that had gone viral on social media. Because, roller skates are not allowed to drive in public facilities such as roads.

"We check and follow up. Fasum must comply with the designation and provisions. There is already a place for skating. Arrogance on the road is detrimental to self and many people," said Riza in the arizapatria Instagram account, quoted on Monday, May 9.

Riza asked the roller skaters to channel their hobby in a place that has been prepared and not to disturb public facilities and to carry out the correct security protocols.

"Many places for rollerblading have been prepared by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, ranging from public facilities to the Jakarta International Roller Track Arena (JIRTA)," said Riza.

For information, a video of a group of roller skate players walking hand in hand in the middle of the highway on Jalan Gatot Subroto has gone viral on Twitter social media.

The video received various criticisms from netizens because it was considered a danger to other road users.

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Endra Zulpan emphasized that this activity should not be carried out in the middle of the road because it is not a recommended track for rollerblading.

"Of course it will disturb other road users, besides that it is dangerous for the safety of the roller skaters," Zulpan told reporters.

In the near future, the Polda Metro Jaya will control the roller skates that return to the road. The action that will be carried out by the Polda Metro Jaya regarding the viral group of people using roller skates will certainly be carried out in a persuasive manner.

"We put forward persuasive action in the form of a warning," he said.
