JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) found evidence related to allegations of bribery in the procurement of goods and services as well as the auction of positions in the Bekasi City Government. The findings of this evidence were obtained after the investigative team finished conducting searches in the cities of Bekasi, Jakarta and Bogor on Friday, January 7th.
"The places from the three locations include the Bekasi Mayor's Office, the Bekasi Mayor's official residence, the Bekasi Mayor's official residence, and the residences of the parties related to the case," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement. Ali Fikri told reporters, Saturday, January 8.
From the searches at a number of locations, Ali said, the KPK found a number of evidences allegedly related to the alleged bribery. The findings are in the form of project documents carried out by the City of Bekasi, ASN personnel administration at the Bekasi City Government, and electronic goods.
"Furthermore, this evidence will be immediately analyzed in detail and in depth in order to strengthen the description of the actions of the suspects and confiscation will be carried out to complete the investigation case file," he said.
After searching, the KPK will then summon a number of witnesses related to this alleged bribery case.
"The natural investigation team in the future will continue the process of investigating this case by scheduling the summons of witnesses who are strongly suspected of knowing the roles of the suspects," said Ali.
Previously reported, the KPK named Rahmat Effendi along with eight other people as suspects in the alleged bribery in the procurement of goods and services as well as the auction of positions in the Bekasi City Government.
