It Should Be Noted, The Requirements For RT-PCR To Take A Long-distance Train Are A Maximum Of 3x24 Hours

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Operation Area 7 Madiun, East Java, revealed that currently, the number of train passengers is increasing, so the management has also made a policy of requiring rapid PCR tests to take long-distance trains for a maximum of 3x24 hours.

The Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 7 Madiun, Ixfan Hendriwintoko stated that the regulation was adjusted to the issuance of the SE Ministry of Transportation Number 92 of 2021 concerning Amendments to the SE of the Ministry of Transportation Number 89 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Rail Transportation During the COVID-19 Pandemic Period on 27 October 2021.

"In addition to using the negative results of the RT-PCR test, customers are also still allowed to use the negative results of the Rapid Antigen Test a maximum of 1x24 hours before the scheduled departure," said Ixfan when confirmed, quoted by Antara, Sunday, October 31.

Ixfan emphasized that PT KAI always ensures that all customers apply health protocols in a disciplined manner and only allows customers who meet the requirements to be able to board the train.

"We always follow and comply with the regulations set by the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on rail transportation modes," said Ixfan.

Meanwhile, the requirements for those who travel by long-distance trains other than having to show a vaccine card for at least the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination, prospective passengers under the age of 12 are not required to show a vaccine card.

For prospective passengers with special health conditions or comorbid diseases that prevent them from receiving vaccines, they are required to attach a doctor's certificate from a government hospital stating that the person concerned has not and/or cannot take the COVID-19 vaccination.

Long-distance train customers are required to show a certificate of negative RT-PCR test results a maximum of 3x24 hours or a rapid antigen test a maximum of 1x24 hours before the scheduled departure.

For children under 12 years old, they must be accompanied by their parents/family as evidenced by a Family Card.

To order tickets, all train customers must enter the Population Identification Number (NIK) in the identity number column. The use of this NIK is valid for adult or child customers to validate the vaccination status and COVID-19 examination of potential customers. This is because KAI has integrated the PeduliLindung application with the KAI boarding system.

While using KAI services, passengers are also asked to comply with health protocols, namely wearing masks, washing hands with soap in running water, maintaining distance, staying away from crowds, reducing mobility, avoiding eating together, and using hand sanitizer.

Passengers must also be in good health (not suffering from flu, colds, cough, loss of smell, diarrhea, and fever), and have a body temperature of not more than 37.3 degrees Celsius.

In addition, passengers are also required to wear a three-layer cloth mask or a medical mask that covers the nose and mouth. While on the train, it is also not allowed to talk one-way or two-way by telephone or in-person throughout the journey.

It is not permitted to eat and drink throughout the journey for a journey that is less than two hours, except for individuals who are obliged to take medicine for treatment which if not done can endanger the safety and health of the person.
