October 2019 Ganjar's electability is far below Anies Baswedan, in the next 2 years he is in line with Prabowo

JAKARTA - Central Java Governor, Ganjar Pranowo, is the only figure whose electability has consistently increased. Even in October 2021, Ganjar's electability is already in line with the current most powerful presidential candidate, Prabowo Subianto.

That's the results of the latest survey from Compass Research and Development. The media conducted face-to-face interviews from September 26 to October 9 to 1,200 respondents throughout Indonesia with a 95 percent confidence level.

Broadly speaking, the Kompas Research and Development Survey captures that old names still dominate to become citizens' choices in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. New names have not emerged from the five surveys that have been carried out by Kompas Research and Development.

"This means that the public's choice of a figure who is considered worthy of being president has not changed much in the last two years. Several figures who have recently appeared in the public sphere through billboards have not yet emerged to the surface", wrote Kompas quoted from Kompas.id entitled Who is the Public Choice Candidate Today?, Tuesday, October 19.

Compass R&D Survey Results

Prabowo Subianto and Ganjar Pranowo got the top electability in the latest survey. Both have received support from 13.9 percent of respondents in various regions in Indonesia. They are overshadowed by Anies Baswedan (9.6 percent), Ridwan Kamil (5.1 percent), Tri Rismaharini (4.9 percent), Sandiaga Uno (4.6 percent), and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (4.5 percent).

Although the main names that appear are still the same, changes are starting to occur in the support base. Several figures recorded an increase in support, while other figures recorded fluctuations in the acquisition of public support.

Ganjar Pranowo is the only figure who has consistently experienced an increase in electability in the last five surveys conducted by Compass R&D. In October 2019, Ganjar received 1.8 percent support. At that time, Ganjar was quite far behind compared to Prabowo Subianto (14.7 percent), Anies Baswedan (8.4 percent), and Sandiaga Uno (7.3 percent).

However, the number of supports increased in the next survey period as Ganjar's appearance in the public sphere became increasingly massive. In April 2021, Ganjar's electability has touched 7.3 percent and is the figure with the third-highest electability after Prabowo Subianto (16.4 percent) and Anies Baswedan (10.0 percent).

Ganjar's electability has skyrocketed at this time. Support for Ganjar for the first time matched Prabowo's electability. Ganjar became the first figure who was able to match Prabowo's electability level since the 2019 presidential election.

Ridwan Kamil also experienced a consistent increase in electability in the last four surveys. After experiencing a decline in August 2020, Ridwan Kamil's electability rate has increased gradually.

In August 2020, Ridwan Kamil's electability was only 1.9 percent, while now the electability rate has reached 5.1 percent and for the first time has succeeded in overtaking Sandiaga Uno.
