Snatched At The Berlan TNI Complex, Victim Says Perpetrators Wearing Grass Market Residents' Parking Uniforms
JAKARTA - Sa'ati, a mother, was targeted by a mugging victim on Jalan Kesatriaan VIII, Berlan TNI Complex, Kebon Manggis Village, Matraman District. The victim was snatched after taking her child for immunization at the SDN 11 Kebon Manggis school.
"I just dropped off my immunizations at school. On my way home, I stopped at a tea shop, while I put my cellphone and wallet on the front dashboard", Sa'ati said at the scene, Tuesday, October 5.
On the front dashboard, the victim put her cellphone and wallet containing IDR 500 thousand in cash. The victim was suspicious and worried about his valuables on the motorcycle dashboard. He also wanted to take her cellphone and wallet.
"The plan was to turn around to take the cellphone, it turned out that when I looked someone with a motorbike said, 'Mom... Mom... this is her cellphone, this is her cellphone'. I was spontaneously surprised, oh God, it's my cellphone. . I shouted thief.. thief. He (the perpetrator) immediately fled", said the victim.
The victim was angry with the perpetrator. After stealing her cellphone, the perpetrator actually mocked the victim.
"The person (the perpetrator) was teasing. I ran after the thief screaming. It was quiet at that time", she said.

The victim explained that the characteristics of the perpetrator had been recognized by residents. She also hopes that residents can immediately catch the perpetrators to provide a deterrent effect.
"The characteristic perpetrator has been caught, people here recognize it. That person (perpetrator) wants to go shopping (drugs) through the church heading from Manggarai. He is a grass market person, he is an outsider", she said.
However, the victim admitted that he had not reported the incident to the Matraman Police. The victim reasoned that it was useless to make a report because her cellphone did not return.
"I don't report it to the police. If I report the goods, it doesn't come back either. If it's a police matter, it's complicated to come here. I hope the perpetrators will be caught, and the children here are still snooping around", she said.
When acting, the victim continued, the perpetrator was still wearing a parking uniform. The perpetrator was riding a red motorbike and wearing a hat and mask.
"The perpetrator (allegedly) was a Grass Market child, a parking attendant. When he took the parking uniform, there was a video. I hope the residents can catch the perpetrator. Later, the residents want to give up the perpetrator before being handed over to the police", she said.
