Hutama Karya - Adhi Karya Continues The Construction Of The Al-Jabbar Grand Mosque Project Worth IDR 496 Billion: It Can Accommodate Up To 60 Thousand Congregations

JAKARTA - Towards the end of 2021, PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) through the Building Division has again won the trust to continue the project of building the Al-Jabbar Grand Mosque which will become one of the new icons of West Java province.

Located in the Gedebage area, Bandung, West Java Province, the project which had been delayed for approximately 1.5 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic with the previous contractor was resumed according to the direction of the West Java Provincial Government.

The signing of this follow-up project contract was carried out on Friday, July 23, and was attended by representatives of the West Java Province Highways Office, Dr. Indra Maha ST., MT. as PPK, GM Building Department PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk., Yan Arianto and Executive Vice President (EVP) Hutama Karya Purnomo Building Division.

The construction of the Al-Jabbar mosque was carried out by a consortium of contractors Adhi Karya - Hutama Karya. Director of Operations II Hutama Karya Ferry Febrianto said that Hutama Karya collaborated with Adhi Karya to continue the finishing of projects that had previously been built.

Previously, the HK - Adhi Collaboration had a good portfolio and had produced various monumental buildings, it convinced the owner of the Al-Jabbar Mosque project that the project could be completed on time with the best quality.

In addition to the unique building facade compared to other buildings, the construction of the Al-Jabbar Mosque itself also involves local craftsmen. Local craftsmen helped in finishing the Al-Jabbar mosque.

"The involvement of 27 percent of local craftsmen in this project is to give a touch of West Java that is combined with the atmosphere of the mosque. We invite them (local craftsmen) to work together so that it indirectly has an economic impact, especially in the midst of a pandemic," said Ferry.

Purnomo as EVP of the Hutama Karya Building Division said that even in the midst of a pandemic situation, currently, the company's strategies in accelerating construction completion include coordinating with various stakeholders so that project work can be completed optimally and efficiently.

This project with a value of IDR 496 billion will be completed in 519 calendar days, starting on December 23, 2022. This advanced development has several scopes of work including Structural, Architectural, MEP, and Landscape Works.

In the process of construction, Hutama Karya also does not escape providing social responsibility to local residents and Bandung residents. Hutama Karya together with Adhi Karya and collaborated with a number of agencies and several other SOEs, together held a vaccine center for the Al-Jabbar Mosque in August 2021 with a vaccination target of 10.000 but in reality, it reached 10.492 vaccinations.

The mosque which stands on an area of 25.9 hectares will later be able to accommodate approximately 60 thousand worshipers, where the inside itself can accommodate up to 33 thousand worshipers and there are facilities that are friendly for the disabled.

In addition to being a place of worship, there will be several additional educational facilities such as the Asmaul Husna Museum, the Indonesian Islamic History Museum, and the West Java Islamic History Museum. Ridwan Kamil as the Governor of West Java revealed that later the Al-Jabbar Grand Mosque will become one of the new icons in West Java and a place of worship for the people of not only West Java but also the Indonesian people who are visiting this Bumi Pasundan.
