Police Say Ex-Regent Yahukimo Abock Busup Died Not Because Of Violence

JAKARTA - The National Police stated that the cause of the death of former Yahukimo Regent, Abock Busup, was not a crime. From the results of the investigation, there were no signs of violence on Abock Busup's body.

"There were also no signs of violence around the victim's body and no other objects, drugs, etc. were found either", said Head of Public Information Bureau of Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono to reporters, Monday, October 4.

However, the cause of Abock Busup's death has yet to be ascertained. To be sure, you have to go through the autopsy process.

"This is still being investigated. Because an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of Busup's death", said Rusdi.

According to him, Abock Busup's family did not allow an autopsy to be carried out. The family considers it all fate.

"The family itself objected (the autopsy) and residents stated that they had accepted this as a destiny and the family would also explain to other families and even the people in Yahukimo", said Rusdi.

In addition, Rusdi stated that Abock Busup was at the hotel to rest. Because Abock Busup will attend an event in Bali and transit in Jakarta.

"In the context of having activities in Bali. Before going to Bali, he transited to Jakarta, spent the night, and on the 3rd (October) he was found dead", said Rusdi.

For information, Abock Busup was found dead in room 1707 of the Grand Mercure Hotel, Central Jakarta, on Sunday, October 3.
