Recent Research: Indonesian Twitter Netizens Hate Microsoft The Most
JAKARTA - The review site RAVE Review released their latest research related to the discussion on one of the popular social media such as Twitter. The research included rating more than one million brand-related tweets for positive or negative content.
RAVE lists every major US and UK company in the fast food, gaming, and technology categories. It then uses the SentiStrength analysis tool, to see how many tweets each brand receives in both positive and negative contexts.
Surprisingly, Microsoft has received the most criticism from netizens. The maker of Windows is apparently more hated than Google, Amazon, and even Facebook. As many as 41.57 percent of negative tweets were successfully obtained by Microsoft. The biggest Microsoft hater is Indonesia, with 51.35 percent.
"Microsoft took the crown as the most hated in 22 countries," said RAVE Review in its research as quoted from PC Mag, Wednesday, September 29.
In comparison, Facebook and Google are the least liked in 24 countries. This is an interesting study because it seems that the more hate a brand gets, the more popular the company becomes.
Likewise with Uber transportation services. The company is known to receive a lot of hate in the US, UK, and Saudi Arabia. In the US, it's not only Uber that gets the most hate, there's also LEGO, Sony, Microsoft, and Netflix.
There's also Elon Musk's Tesla, which has managed to attract a cult-like following with haters and fanboys on par with being the seventh most hated.
Furthermore, the RAVE Reviews team also compiled a list of the 100 biggest global brands by search volume and found Sony received the most hate in about eight countries, considering the company does everything from being a film producer to giving the world some of the best games.
