COVID-19 Case Slopes, Minister Of Home Affairs Tito: Must Prepare Scenarios If There Is A New Wave Of Variants

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Muhammad Tito Karnavian appealed to the public not to get into euphoria due to the decline in the number of positive cases of COVID-19.

Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian said indicators showing improvement in handling COVID-19 did not necessarily make people complacent.

For this reason, the easing must also be gradual, continuous, and gradual.

"In fact, at a time like this, all stakeholders, both provincial and city districts, must prepare a scenario if there is a new wave of variants," said the Minister of Home Affairs in a statement received in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Friday, September 24.

According to Tito, the scenario made by the central government remains the same as a measure to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.

These scenarios include increasing health capacity, such as the availability of drugs and oxygen, as well as a centralized isolation place (isoter) for COVID-19 sufferers.

For the problem of data collection, the Minister of Home Affairs also appealed to the regions not to make mistakes in the input process related to the numbers that are indicators of handling.

This, said Tito, relates to the status of the level of handling the pandemic that will be determined by the central government in the area.

"Data needs to be cleaned, reported in real, real within that week," said the Minister of Home Affairs.

He also said that the problem of handling COVID-19 in densely populated areas must also be carefully observed.

In addition to handling the pandemic, the Minister of Home Affairs also asked local governments to innovate to increase local revenue (PAD). This innovation is needed, especially for regions whose income is still far below the target.

"Don't let the income fall below 50 percent. This is because such an achievement indicates that regional income is not in line with the APBD target at the beginning of the year," he said.

This, according to the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito, will also have an impact on the running of various regional work programs.
