Held Flower Sowing Action, Salemba Rutan Convicts Grieve Over The Tangerang First Prison Disaster
JAKARTA - The correctional officers of the Class 1A Salemba Prison, Central Jakarta, held a prayer together with thousands of prisoners inmates (WBP) and symbolically sprinkled flowers on the coffin.
This activity was carried out as a form of condolences for the Correctional Service in Jakarta for the fire incident at Class 1 Tangerang Prison, Wednesday, September 8, yesterday.
"Regarding the disaster that occurred in Tangerang Prison, all ranks along with all inmates performed prayers and remembrance together. Prayers of remembrance were carried out in mosques, monasteries, and churches. We express our deepest condolences to the 43 inmates of Tangerang Prison for what happened yesterday", said Head of Salemba Prison, Yohanis Varianto, told VOI, Thursday, September 9.
According to Yohanis, his party prioritizes empathy for the families of the inmates who are left behind so that they are given fortitude and sincerity.
"We all inmates and officers are very concerned about this incident, hopefully, prisons and detention centers throughout Indonesia do not happen things that can cause such incidents, especially in the Salemba detention center", he said.

The flower sowing activity on the miniature coffin was led by Head of Salemba Prison, Yohanis Varianto. Then followed by several other inmates.
There were even one of the inmates who couldn't hold back his tears while sowing the flowers. One of them is Bogi Ferdiansyah, a narcotics convict who is serving a sentence of approximately 6 years.
Bogi said that although the fire occurred in the Tangerang prison, the inmates at the Salemba Rutan felt very devastated.
"They are gone. We are a big family of residents of the Salemba Prison in Central Jakarta and express our condolences for the passing of my family (41 prisoners who died) in Tangerang Prison. If this is fate, we will give our best wishes", he said.
