Owning 15 Factories With Production Of 5 Million Pieces Per Day, Sari Roti Owned By Conglomerate Anthony Salim Raises Sales Of Rp1.55 Trillion
JAKARTA - PT Nippon Indosari Corpindo Tbk as the largest mass segment bread producer in Indonesia with the trademark 'Sari Roti' again recorded a good performance in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic that is still hitting. The company recorded net sales for the first semester of 2021 of Rp1.55 trillion.
Head of Investor & Public Relations, Hadi Susilo said that the net profit that can be distributed to owners of the parent entity increased significantly by 33.2 percent or Rp121.8 billion compared to the same period last year.
"The efficiency of operating expenses has had a positive impact on the increase in EBITDA margin which was previously 17.3 percent or EBITDA equivalent to Rp268 billion with a net profit margin of 7.8 percent," Hadi said in a virtual press conference, Monday, September 6.
Furthermore, Hadi admitted that the gross profit of the company owned by conglomerate Anthony Salim in the first semester of 2021 was slightly depressed. The reason is the increase in the price of raw materials. However, he said, the current gross profit margin is 54.8 percent.
"Actually, it's only down 0.3 percent from last year," he said.
Furthermore, Hadi said that this positive achievement is the result of the company's efforts in implementing various initiatives focused on profitability.
"Logistics efficiency by optimizing the distribution of new factories, implementing measurable advertising and promotion strategies, and increasing work productivity have cumulatively succeeded in reducing Operating Expenses in the first half of 2021," he said.
For your information, the issuer with stock code ROTI currently operates 14 factories spread across various strategic locations with a total production capacity of 5 million slices of bread per day.

Meanwhile, Director of PT Nippon Indosari Corpindo Tbk Ida Simatupang said the company is also building a new factory in Pekanbaru and completing the additional capacity of the Palembang plant, both of which are expected to be completed early next year.
The realization of capital expenditure (capital expenditure/Capex) until the first semester reached Rp124 billion, equivalent to 83 percent absorption compared to the Rp150 billion budgeted for 2021.
"This is a testament to our commitment to the prospect of strong growth in demand for bakery products in Indonesia," said Ida.
Director of Nippon Indosari Arlina Sofia said that the company also carried out Corporate Social Responsibility activities in the form of assistance for the frontline handling COVID-19. The Sari Roti Peduli program has succeeded in reaching doctors, nurses, medical personnel, volunteers, and even patients under treatment at several Independent Isolation Centers.
"Until August 2021, we have distributed donations in the form of Sari Roti products worth a total of Rp2.78 billion, in order to lead to a healthy Indonesia," he said.
