UMMI Hospital Swab Case, PT DKI Strengthens 4 Years In Prison For Rizieq Shihab
JAKARTA - The Jakarta High Court panel of judges upheld the first-degree verdict for the defendant Rizieq Shihab in the case of the results of the swab at the Bogor UMMI Hospital. So, Rizieq was still sentenced to four years in prison.
"Yes, the panel of judges upheld the verdict against Habib Rizieq Shihab", said Rizieq's lawyer, Ichwan Tuankota to VOI, Monday, August 30.
However, Ichwan did not want to comment further when he was asked about the aggravating and mitigating considerations of the panel of judges on the decision.
He only emphasized that Rizieq's team of lawyers agreed to reject and object to the decision. The reason is that the decision was unfair to Rizieq Shihab.
"What is clear is that we reject this decision and it is far from a sense of justice," said Ichwan.
