Towards The End Of PPKM, The Price Of Chili And Tomatoes Is Dropping

JAKARTA - Towards the last day of the PPKM policy, the DKI Jakarta Provincial government noted that there was a decrease in prices for several horticultural commodities, such as large red chilies, red chili peppers, and fruit tomatoes by an average of 10 percent.

The Head of the Food Security Division of DKI Jakarta Province, Lia Imbasari, assessed that the development of food prices towards the last day of the PPKM extension was relatively stable.

"Prices are stable due to sufficient supply, no religious holidays, and no significant increase in public demand," Lia quoted Antara, Sunday, August 22.

The biggest decline occurred in horticultural commodities such as chili and tomatoes, as well as broiler meat, although not significant, which was down by Rp296 or 0.8 percent.

Meanwhile, the availability of rice in DKI Jakarta is 83,856 tons, which is spread in the Cipinang Rice Main Market as much as 42,303 tons and in Bulog Divre Jakarta Banten 41,553 tons.

This amount is considered safe for the average household consumption of Jakarta's rice needs of 2,747 tons per day.

"For stock analysis, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has carried out calculations until December 2021, both for household and non-household needs," said Lia.

The DKI Provincial Government also continues to anticipate price hikes with regular coordination with Bulog and DKI Food BUMDs, such as PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya, PD Dharma Jaya, and Perumda Pasar Jaya.
