BMKG Reminds Potential Extreme Weather

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reminded the public to stay alert and be careful of the potential for extreme weather such as tornadoes, heavy rain accompanied by lightning or lightning, hail, and others.

Furthermore, from August 24 to August 26 2021, the BMKG reminded people in the areas of Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Lampung, Banten, West Java, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Maluku, West Papua and Papua.

BMKG added that the weather conditions for the period 20 August to 26 August 2021 were quite varied. The area of Bali to Nusa Tenggara will tend to be sunny, cloudy to cloudy with the potential for local moderate and heavy intensity rain to occur in parts of Banten, West Java, Central Java, and East Java.

Meanwhile, for Sumatra, most of it will have the potential to rain with moderate to heavy intensity.

In the Kalimantan region, light rain will be dominant with the potential for moderate to heavy rain in West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, and Central Kalimantan.

The potential for significant rainfall is estimated in most areas of central Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua.

As for the Jakarta area, the BMKG predicts two areas, namely West Jakarta and South Jakarta, to experience light rain on Sunday afternoon.

The BMKG predicts that all areas of DKI Jakarta and the Thousand Islands will be cloudy on Sunday morning.

However, turning to the afternoon, West Jakarta and South Jakarta are predicted to have light rain, while Central Jakarta and East Jakarta are cloudy. Sunny cloudy weather accompanied Sunday afternoon in North Jakarta, as well as the Thousand Islands.
