Deputy Chairman Of MPR Syarief Hasan Invites Indonesian People To Share With Each Other During Pandemic

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI) Sjarief Hasan invites the Indonesian people to strengthen social awareness and a sense of brotherhood by immediately giving attention and assistance to fellow countrymen who are experiencing difficulties.

"Don't wait for tomorrow or provide big assistance, small but fast and precise assistance will have a profound impact," Syarief said in his statement, quoted from Antara, Saturday, August 21.

Syarief said that the form of empathy given would be of great meaning to recipients in need. In addition, the attention and sincere helping hand to those in need will also give great encouragement.

He also expressed his concern over the COVID-19 pandemic, which has not yet ended. This was conveyed by Syarief on the sidelines of his working visit when he met with people in several areas in Cianjur Regency, West Java, from Friday, August 20, to Saturday, August 21.

The MPR leader from the Democratic Party said that his working visit was to accurately identify the pressing needs of the community so that the burden they are facing is lighter.

On that occasion, he mentioned that there are still many people who have difficulty even if it is only to meet their basic needs due to the pandemic which has a direct impact on their economy.

Together with local community leaders and continuing to apply health protocols, Syarief toured the narrow alleys of Peuteuycondong Village, Cianjur Regency, to conduct brief dialogues and provide basic food assistance directly at people's doors on Saturday, August 21.

When he took the time to visit the house of one of the residents in the area, he advised to always be patient in the current situation and still adhere to health protocols.

Syarief reminded that empathy, helping hand, and kindness given to others will produce goodness too.

"The kindness given will turn out to be good too," said Syarief.
