Sorong City Government Budgeted For Procurement Of 100 COVID-19 Coffins, Unit Price Rp4.5 Million
JAKARTA - The Sorong City Government of West Papua Province has budgeted for the procurement of 100 crates to handle the bodies of local residents who died due to COVID-19 throughout 2021.
Secretary of the Sorong City COVID-19 Task Force, Herlin Sasabone in Sorong, Friday, said that his party budgeted for the purchase of 100 crates for the handling of COVID-19 bodies in 2021.
He said that the price of one coffin prepared for the funeral of the corpse of a COVID-19 patient in Sorong City was Rp4,500,000.
According to him, from January to August 2021, 78 of the 100 coffins budgeted for are used for the burial of COVID-19 bodies.

This means, continued Herlin, from January to August 2021 as many as 78 residents of the city of Sorong have died from COVID-19 and were buried according to health protocols.
"Currently, there are 26 crates left for handling COVID-19 bodies in Sorong City," he said as quoted by Antara, Friday, August 13.
It was said that many COVID-19 patients had died, making the funeral team of the Sorong City COVID-19 Handling Task Force exhausted.
Therefore, he expects the public to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols as an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
"Always wear a mask in public places, wash your hands regularly, and reduce gatherings to protect yourself and your family," he said.
