Apple Makes Electric Cars Collaborating With SK Innovation, How About Samsung?
JAKARTA - It seems that Apple is still looking for the right company to produce its electric car, Apple Car. Rumors of an Apple car in the making have been going on for some time. What about its competitor, Samsung?
Though there hasn't been a definitive statement or even a tipster leak to suggest that the famous Apple Car is ready to hit the road.
According to a report quoted from Gizmochina, Friday, August 12, Apple has had several discussions with its business partners and is a possible producer of EV components in Korea. The news was highlighted in the Korea Times and specifically mentioned that Apple has had talks beyond its recent iPhone engagements with some of its partners in Korea.
Some of the companies mentioned in the talks are LG Electronics, SK Innovation, and Hanwa. It is known, SK Innovation is a company that manufactures EV batteries from the SK Group.
It will be very interesting to see Apple come with its own car. However, there has been no leak about the purpose of developing an electric vehicle by Apple, and whether the car will be produced commercially or otherwise.
Samsung doesn't want to be left behind
Not only Apple, but Samsung is also claimed to have had previous talks with several automakers, and it is believed that further talks are taking place with Hyundai/Kia, Nissan, and several other automakers.
But so far, no public statement is available to confirm whether the talks actually took place, as none of the companies mentioned have issued a statement denying or confirming the claims.
We'll just have to wait and see which of Apple and Samsung, the giant companies that have been known for their HP, Computer and similar products, whose electric cars will pave first.
