Actor Kim Yong-gun Opens Up About Forced Abortion Scandal
JAKARTA - Actor Kim Yong-gun has been caught in a forbidden love scandal with someone who is not a celebrity.
Monday, August 2, Kim Yong-gun was sued by a 39-year-old woman because the actor asked her to have an abortion.
This woman is Kim Yong-gun's girlfriend of 13 years who in March said she was pregnant with Kim Yong-gun's child. However, Kim Yong-gun denied it.
Cited from SportsDongA today, August 3, Kim Yong-gun released an official statement regarding this situation.
“Until now, I told the other party, 'I will support the birth process and take responsibility'. Therefore, I did not expect this conflict to lead to a lawsuit”, said the 75-year-old actor.
Kim Yong-gun explained that their relationship started after his children moved out of the family home. They were in a relationship until last April, it was reported that she was four weeks pregnant.

Kim Yong-gun admits he asked his partner not to give birth, but he realized a child is more valuable than his public image.
"I told my children about the pregnancy and to my surprise, my children welcomed the news". Concluding his statement, Kim Yong-gun apologized and committed to taking responsibility.
Kim Yong-gun is a senior actor who has been active in the entertainment world since 1967 with a number of dramas. Some of them are Cinderella and Four Knights, Woman of Dignity, and Mystic Pop-up Bar.
Kim Yong-gun also has two children from a previous marriage, namely actors Ha Jung-woo and Cha Hyun-woo.
