31 Drug Traffickers Arrested By South Sumatra Police
JAKARTA - The South Sumatra Regional Police during July 2021 uncovered 34 drug cases by arresting 31 suspected drug dealers in a number of regencies/cities in this province.
"The evidence confiscated from the suspected traffickers and 11 drug users were 10,298.32 grams of methamphetamine, five marijuana sticks, and 55 ecstasy pills," said the Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police, Grand Commissioner Supriadi, in Palembang, as reported by Antara, Monday, July 26.
The disclosure of the drug case was carried out by members of the Narcotics Directorate of the South Sumatra Police and the Narcotics Unit of a number of police stations in this province.
Based on the data on the disclosure of the case, the most suspects were arrested by members of the Narcotics Directorate of the South Sumatra Police with 6 police reports (LP) and 8 suspects, the Ogan Komering Ilir Police with 5 LPs and 7 suspects, and the Palembang Police with 4 LPs and 5 suspects.
Meanwhile, the Pagar Alam Police and North Musirawas Police did not reveal any drug cases in the fourth week of July 2021, he said.

Seeing the high drug cases, he said, the South Sumatran Police in 2021 will try to be more aggressive in eradicating drug abuse and illicit trafficking and enforcement of the law to the fullest.
"Anyone who is proven to be storing, possessing, and distributing drugs will be processed in accordance with legal provisions," he said.
In addition to increasing drug eradication operations, he said, his party invites the community to jointly eradicate the abuse and illicit trafficking of prohibited goods.
Community participation, he said, includes monitoring children and their respective families from the bad influence of drugs that can damage the mental and future of the nation's next generation.
If the public knows that in their neighborhood or other places there are illicit trafficking activities and drug abuse, he said, they are asked to report to the nearest police force.
