The National Board for Disaster Management Investigate Alleged Fraud Of Quarantine Procedures For Foreign Citizens From Overseas
JAKARTA - Data Center and Information Technology (Kapusdatin) of National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Abdul Muhari admitted that the public questioned the alleged fraud against quarantine procedures at hotels for foreigners and Indonesian citizens who had just arrived from abroad.
"In the last few days, we have seen and witnessed and read that there are several opinions that have developed in the community regarding questions regarding the implementation of the quarantine for foreigners and Indonesian citizens", said Abdul Muhari on the BNPB Indonesia YouTube channel, Friday, July 16.
Abdul Muhari said that news had developed that BNPB officers carried out PCR tests at hotels where foreigners were quarantined.
Then, it was reported that hotel management and BNPB officers forbade foreigners and Indonesian citizens who are in quarantine to retest outside those provided at the hotel. In other news, BNPB officers provide paid ambulance facilities.
To straighten out the circulating news, Abdul Muhari said that the BNPB is currently investigating the two hotels mentioned in the alleged fraud.
"The BNPB is currently calling the management of the 2 hotels mentioned to clarify", said Abdul Muhari.

Second, the BNPB is also looking into which employees were involved in the alleged fraud at the repatriation quarantine hotel.
"Because it was mentioned there that hotel and BNPB officers were there. If there really is a BNPB there, of course internally we will investigate, from where, from what echelon unit, and we will certainly carry out sanctions in accordance with legal provisions", he said.
However, if it is known that no BNPB officer was involved, the BNPB will ask management to clarify this allegation in writing and can be accounted for.
"Because it is very important for us to be able to explain that the coverage that was appointed as the main report was not based on the interview explained by the hotel", explained Abdul Muhari.
