JAKARTA - Member of Commission IX of the DPR RI from the PAN faction, Saleh Daulay, told the story of the grief of a member of the DPR who died because he did not get an ICU.
He told this story at the Commission IX Working Meeting with the Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin which was monitored online, Tuesday, July 13.
"I don't want to hear anymore that there are members of the DPR who can't be placed in the ICU, like what happened to a member of the PAN faction, my brother John Siffy Mirin, from Papua, who didn't get an ICU," said Saleh.
Saleh continued, finally after a long journey, John was able to get an ICU at the RSPAD. However, he died after 2 hours of being treated there.

This incident, continued Saleh, made the Deputy Secretary-General of PAN Rosaline Irene Rumaseuw convey the desire to build a COVID-19 hospital specifically for state officials.
"Finally, our friend, who is also a Papuan, asked for the official's special hospital because he was emotional not because of his heart. Because he witnessed how difficult it was for patients to survive without adequate equipment in the midst of a fairly devastating COVID-19 attack," Saleh said.
Saleh feels the loss of his family affected by COVID-19, because the ICU bed is full and does not receive treatment.
Therefore, he also asked Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin to ensure the worst-case scenario if COVID-19 cases rise more than 60 percent and prepare for services and treatment for patients.
