Going To The Field, Governor Khofifah Encourages Tuban Residents For Vaccines

JAKARTA - East Java Governor, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, encouraged Tuban residents not to hesitate to participate in the vaccination program as an effort to control COVID-19, especially in the local area.

"Thank you to the people who are passionate about vaccines with any brand. That is already very extraordinary", she said, on the sidelines of attending the "Concurrent Movement Against COVID-19" which was held in Tuban, reported by Antara, Tuesday, July 13.

She emphasized that nationally, all parties must maximize the vaccination program so that the target is achieved, namely getting group immunity.

Even though he has been vaccinated, the number one person in the East Java Provincial Government advised the entire community to always maintain health protocols, continue to wear masks, maintain a safe distance to reduce mobility and interaction.

"Here, all parties play a role and always synergize so that COVID-19 can be controlled. In a position like this, the role of the government, media, private sector, academics, and society must remain tight", she said.

On that occasion, the first female governor in East Java also appreciated the spraying of disinfectants in 311 villages in 17 sub-districts throughout Tuban and was optimistic that the target of 10-15 thousand people would be vaccinated.

Meanwhile, accompanying Governor Khofifah, namely East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta, Military Commander V/Brawijaya Major General Suharyanto, and Tuban Regent Aditya Halindra Faridzky.

According to Khofifah, the presence of East Java Forkopimda officials is a form of seriousness in efforts to handle COVID-19 in the local area.

The visit of the Governor and Regional Leadership Coordination Forum began with activities at the Tuban Indonesian Red Cross Office (PMI), then moved to the COVID-19 Emergency Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) Command Post in Beji Village, Jenu District, and continued with a review of PT Samator Gas Industri's oxygen filling station in the HOS Cokroaminoto Street area.

On the other hand, the coronavirus situation in East Java, based on data from the provincial COVID-19 control task force, today saw a spike in positive confirmed cases with an additional 6,269 patients.

Cumulatively, the total confirmed positive for COVID-19 in East Java was 203,372 patients, of which 21,979 patients (10.81 percent) were treated, then 166,958 people (82.09 percent) recovered, and 14,435 people (7.1 percent) died.
