Tokopedia Gives Free Vaccines To MSMEs, These Are The Conditions

JAKARTA - Tokopedia and the Indonesian Shopping Center Tenants Association (Hippindo) held a special vaccination for MSME business actors from July 12 to 17 and 2 August 2021 at the SMESCO building, Jakarta. This program also aims to support the acceleration of economic recovery.

"Sellers at Tokopedia are almost 100 percent MSMEs. This free vaccination program is expected to better protect our strategic partners, in this case, the MSMEs, from the COVID-19 pandemic so that they can continue to participate in economic recovery", said Tokopedia's Director of Public Policy and Government Relations, Astri Wahyuni in a statement, Tuesday, July 13.

The Indonesian Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Teten Masduki also said that previously the vaccination center at SMESCO, which was opened on June 7, 2021, had provided vaccines to more than 70.000 MSMEs.

“Acceleration of community vaccination is very crucial to achieve the national vaccination target, which is expected to be realized by the end of this year. Hopefully, this step can accelerate the national economic recovery", said Teten.

The first stage of the Tokopedia MSME vaccination program with Hippindo applies to sellers from DKI Jakarta at Tokopedia who have registered through the Tokopedia application. Registrants only need to fill in the information according to their ID card and store name.

"Until now, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has managed to provide more than 7 million doses of the first and second vaccines. It is hoped that, according to the request of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, by the end of August 2021 the distribution of vaccines in DKI Jakarta can reach 7.5 million vaccines, so the collaboration of the DKI Provincial Government with strategic partners is very important to accelerate national vaccination for the people of Indonesia, including DKI Jakarta MSMEs", said the Deputy Governor DKI Provincial Government, Ahmad Riza Patria.

It is planned that this vaccination program will also be held in several big cities in Indonesia. In addition to supporting the vaccination program, especially for MSMEs, Tokopedia has also made various efforts to help deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The acceleration of COVID-19 vaccination for all people, including MSMEs, is very crucial. This special vaccination program for MSMEs with Tokopedia is expected to help them increase their productivity more safely. Considering that MSMEs are the backbone of the Indonesian economy", said the General Chairperson of Hippindo, Budihardjo Iduansjah.

In practice, for example, Tokopedia has established a policy to control drug prices and needs related to handling COVID-19. This is also in line with the Ministry of Health's decision on the highest retail price (HET) for 11 drugs widely used during the pandemic.

On the other hand, Tokopedia has also collaborated with the Technology Journalists Forum (Forwat) and BenihBaik.com to channel user donations to journalists and workers in the informal sector affected by COVID-19.
