Ministry Of Health Disburses IDR 17.1 Trillion Funds To Pay For COVID-19 Hospitals

JAKARTA - Throughout 2021, the Ministry of Health has paid hospital claims for COVID-19 services amounting to IDR 17.1 trillion. This value is included with claims originating from the 2020 service.

"We are doing this, there is a service month in 2020, there is a service month in 2021. Why does a 2020 service month appear? Because the hospital uploaded it in 2021, so this hospital claims that in 2021 its service is in 2020", said the Director of Referral Health Services of the Ministry of Health, Rita Rogayah, was reported by Antara, Thursday, July 8.

The amount that has been transferred to the hospital for the 2020 service month is IDR 6,623,344,969,193 which was transferred in 2021.

For the payment of claims for January-May 2021 itself, IDR 10,560,313,207,239 has been made, with the highest claim being in January 2021 of IDR 3.19 trillion.

Regarding the 2020 service month claim, she explained that the Ministry of Health was even still paying service claims in the early months of the pandemic, such as March 2020 which was only claimed in 2021.

"So that in April we did not continue to pay for the 2020 service month uploads because of that regulation must be reviewed first by the BPKP (Financial and Development Supervisory Agency)", she explained.

Of the payments of IDR 17.1 trillion, the most were for private hospitals with the amount of IDR 9.5 trillion, which was claimed by 803 hospitals.

Meanwhile, 415 regional hospitals claimed IDR 4.6 trillion, 58 TNI hospitals for IDR 685 billion, Police Hospitals for IDR 448 billion, 30 Ministry of Health hospitals for IDR 976 billion, 23 state-owned hospitals for IDR 550 billion, and 11 other ministry hospitals for IDR 340 billion.
