The Behavior Of The Masses Of Rizieq Shihab's Supporters, Causing Riots To Throw Police Vehicles Into The River
JAKARTA - The police said that clashes between supporters of Rizieq Shihab and officers were triggered by a dispute. Because the crowd had thrown the officers' vehicle into the river.
"Actually, there was a member's vehicle that was put into the river by the protesters, causing a bit of chaos," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Erwin Kurniawan to reporters, Thursday, June 24.
However, the clashes can be stopped. The police tried to coordinate with the coordinator of the mass supporters of Rizieq Shihab.
The masses, continued Erwin, asked to be in front of the East Jakarta District Court. But for reasons of implementing health protocols (prokes) this wish could not be fulfilled.

"Each party can hold back, it can be stopped. We negotiated with the coordinator, but because our wishes cannot be accommodated, of course, we say that we cannot accommodate it," said Erwin.
"Of course, it must be understood that maintaining a distance so that there are no crowds is the main thing to keep citizens from being exposed to COVID-19, which is the main basis," Erwin continued.
For information, Rizieq Shihab was sentenced to four years in prison for the case of a swab result from the UMMI Hospital. Rizieq violated Article 14 Paragraph (1), which is subsidiary to Article 14 Paragraph (2), which is more subsidiary to Article 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning the Criminal Law Regulations in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
This verdict is lower than the demands of the Public Prosecutor. Previously, the founder of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) was sentenced to six years in prison.
