YOGYAKARTA - The isolation ward of the COVID-19 referral hospital Nyi Ageng Serang Hospital in Kulon Progo Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region as of Thursday, June 17, is full. Beds are full following the high daily addition of COVID-19 cases in the region.

Spokesman for the Kulon Progo COVID-19 Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling, Baning Rahayujati, said that based on the position of the isolation ward of the referral hospital, the Wates Hospital, from a capacity of 30, 24 patients had been filled. The queue at the ER is 8 people, with 6 people remaining.

"Then at the Nyi Ageng Serang Hospital with a capacity of 10 patients, the position is fully occupied and there is still one patient being treated in the ER. The hospital occupancy rate or bed occupancy rate (BOR) of the referral hospital is 87.5 percent," Baning said in Kulon Progo, as reported by Antara, Thursday, June 17.

The addition of COVID-19 cases in Kulon Progo as of Thursday, June 17, 2021, added 50 new cases with the total number of cases reaching 6,737. The details are 73 cases of isolation in hospital, 655 self-isolation, 5,345 completed isolation, 533 cases declared cured and 131 cases died.

"With this addition, we hope that the people of Kulon Pogo will continue to apply strict health protocols," she appealed.

Chairman of the Kulon Progo COVID-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force Fajar Gegana reminded residents to 5M starting from wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, staying away from crowds, and limiting mobility and interaction.
