NasDem Closes Convention For Political Party Chiefs, PKB Protests: It's Wrong, Violates The Constitution

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PKB faction of the House of Representatives, Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, assessed that the NasDem Party convention could be wrong if the participants were really limited, in this case, the general chairman of political parties could not participate.

"It was wrong from the start, it's not allowed, it violates the constitution. It is the right of citizens to be elected and to vote", said Cucun, Thursday, June 17.

Cucun believes that if NasDem is serious about holding a convention, it must fully comply with the constitution. That is, the general chairman can also participate.

"If I say it's wrong, the general chairman can't join the convention (red), so the general chairman should also be appointed", he explained.

Previously, the Chairman of Central Board of the Nasdem Party, Willy Aditya, said the convention was closed to the general chairman of political parties.

"Let us commit, if we roll out the blue carpet, red carpet, yellow carpet, green carpet, we call it a person whose bitter sour taste we accept. So if it is outside the general chairman, please, if the general chairman has not been (allowed to join the convention, ed)", he said.
