COVID-19 Cases Soar Again, Thousands Of Wisma Atlet Isolation Beds Are Added
JAKARTA - The addition of new cases of COVID-19 in the last few days has jumped again. Today, there are 9.868 new cases. In fact, the occupancy of isolation beds at the COVID-19 Emergency Hospital (RSDC) Wisma Atlet Kemayoran reached 80 percent.
Therefore, the COVID-19 Handling Task Force will add a capacity of 2.000 beds at the Wisma Atlet Kemayoran Hospital to accommodate coronavirus patients.
"The capacity per room at the Kemayoran Emergency Hospital will be increased to 3 beds, from the previous 2 beds. So, this additional capacity can add 2000 beds at the RSDC", said Head of the COVID-19 Task Force Ganip Warsito in a virtual press conference, Sunday, June 13.
Thus the capacity of the Kemayoran Atlet Athlete Hospital can increase from its current condition of 5.994 beds to 9566 beds for patients with mild and moderate symptoms.

Not only that, but the Task Force will also open tower 8 of Wisma Atlet Pademangan, which was previously occupied by health workers, for asymptomatic patients (OTG) from DKI Jakarta and its surroundings.
"The government will open tower 8 in Pademangan, for the treatment of OTG patients, the tower is currently occupied by health workers, and as needed will be moved later to the nearest hotel, if this step is successful we will add 1.572 beds", said Ganip.
Meanwhile, the DKI Provincial Government has also prepared a place to isolate COVID-19 patients at a guesthouse owned by DKI. Currently, the Nagrak Cilincing Flats, North Jakarta is being prepared for this location.
Rusun Nagrak has 14 towers. Towers 1 to 5 will be used as isolation locations for COVID-19 patients. Meanwhile, towers 6 to 10 are still in the process of being occupied and towers 11 to 14 are already occupied.
"One tower has 16 floors each, so it can add 2.550 beds", he said.
Furthermore, the DKI government has also prepared other OTG isolation places at Wisma Wisma owned by the DKI Regional Government in 31 scattered locations with a maximum capacity of 8.000 COVID-19 patients in the category of asymptomatic people (OTG).
