Taking A Peek At Russian Military Exercises, US Reconnaissance Planes Expelled By Sukhoi Su-35 Fighter Jets

JAKARTA - The United States (US) military is doing something wrong. While dozens of Russian warships and warplanes were conducting exercises in the Pacific Ocean, US surveillance planes approached from the border. As a result, the plane was driven away.

Cited from TASS, Friday, June 11, the Russian Defense Ministry said their defense radar stations detected the presence of foreign aircraft near their border areas in the Pacific Ocean.

A Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jet from the air defense forces of the Pacific Fleet was deployed to overshadow the plane until it finally left the Russian border.

"On June 10, Russian radar stations detected an aerial target over the Pacific Ocean that was approaching the borders of the Russian state", the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

"The flight of Russian warplanes is carried out in accordance with international rules using the airspace. No violation of the borders of the Russian state is permitted", the statement said.

As reported by Newsweek, the Red Bear Country's military is holding a massive combat exercise in the Pacific Ocean, involving dozens of warships, submarines, and fighter jets.

Held in the middle of a 4.000-kilometer-wide seascape, the exercise was held 2.500 miles from a Russian naval base. Hosted by Russia's Pacific Fleet, the exercise piloted various sea and air aspects of maneuvers.

Various naval arsenals were deployed in this exercise, from the Varyag Slava-class missile cruiser, the large anti-submarine destroyer Admiral Panteleev, the Udaloy-class frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov, the corvette Gromky, Sovershenny, and Aldar Tsydenzhapov, to the missile range instrumentation ship Marshal Krylov.

While from the air, there are long-range anti-submarine fighters Tu-142M3 to high-altitude MiG-31BM fighter jets. A total of about 20 warships and submarines, as well as 20 fighter aircraft were deployed in this exercise.

In addition to the Pacific Ocean, Russia's Northern Fleet is also known to be holding large-scale war games, also involving dozens of warships and warplanes, including the heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser Pyotr Veliky (099), the largest surface warship in the world today.
